Selection Grade -- Adverse Entry Confined to Specified Period -- Service rendered thereafter counts towards ten years satisfactory service

(i) Uttar Pradesh Government Servants Seniority Rules -- Selection Grade -- Adverse Entry Confined to Specified Period -- Service rendered thereafter counts towards ten years of unblemished service required for grant of selection grade. Where an adverse entry against a government servant is expressly limited to a defined period, service rendered after expiry of that period must be independently reckoned for computing eligibility. (ii) Uttar Pradesh Government Servants Seniority Rules -- Selection Grade -- Entitlement Falling Due on Day After Superannuation -- Remains admissible despite retirement, as an increment or upgradation earned through a completed period of satisfactory service cannot be denied merely because the employee was not on the rolls on the date it fell due. Such benefit can be withheld only by way of punishment or for inefficient performance.
