Employee's Compensation -- Accident During Lunch Break -- Nexus between employment and accident not severed

(i) Employee's Compensation Act, 1923, S.3 -- Employee's Compensation -- Accident During Lunch Break -- An accident occurring at the worksite while the claimant is present in connection with his employment falls within the course of employment. A temporary break taken for meals does not, by itself, sever the nexus between employment and the accident. (ii) Employee's Compensation Act, 1923, S.2(1)(dd) -- Employee's Compensation -- Designation as Supervisor -- Designation assigned to a worker is not determinative of exclusion from the Act. What matters is the nature of duties actually discharged, and absent material showing managerial or administrative functions, a bald plea of such designation does not exclude coverage.
